Stay well clear
Don't try to cut or move the tree yourself. Hung-up and fallen trees can hold powerful hidden forces of tension and compression that release without warning.

Powerlines or a public road?
Stay at least 8 metres from fallen powerlines and call your electricity distributor. If a tree is blocking a public road or footpath, call the SES on 132 500 to manage traffic rather than doing it yourself.

How quickly can you respond?
We prioritise emergency work. For urgent hazards, we arrange to get the situation under control as soon as possible after your call. With multiple crews, we can work across several properties at once during a major storm.
Should I call my insurer or you first?
Call your insurer to report the damage, then call us. Most insurers let you choose your own arborist, and you can nominate us. If the hazard is urgent, call us straight away and we'll work with your insurer as the claim goes through.
Do I need to call the SES?
Only if a tree is blocking a public road or footpath and traffic needs managing. SES volunteers do a great job, but they generally can't cut trees that are hung up or under tension. For the tree itself, call an experienced arborist.
Can you help with my insurance claim?
Yes. We provide quotes, photos, itemised invoices and arborist reports, and most insurers accept these by email. Some use online portals. We can help you through the process if you need it.
Do I need a council permit?
Usually not to make a tree safe when it's an immediate risk to people or property. Councils such as Yarra Ranges, Cardinia and Knox may still ask for photos or an arborist's report afterwards, and removing the rest of the tree can need a permit. We'll check what applies to your property.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the tree's size, where it's landed and access. If you're claiming on insurance, we'll quote for your insurer. Otherwise we'll give you a price before we start. After-hours call-out fees apply.
